RIBBED MOEBIUS
1 - 2 hour class
Saturday, April 28, 2012

Fee: $20 (pattern will be provided)
This 'scarf' is a ribbed tube with a twist! It is knit continuously in the round until you have reached the desired width of the 'tube'. This project works with any yarn and any texture or combinations of yarns and textures. It's really fun to knit this with multicoloured yarn.
Topics will include:
- the Moebius cast-on
- determining yarn required for bind-off
 Bring:
- a long (100cm+) circular needle appropriate for the yarn selected (chunky is recommended)

DIANNA SHAWL by Jane Araújo
Dianna Shawl using Zauberball yarn
2 - 2 hour classes
Saturday, April 28 and May 5, 2012
from 10am to noon
Fee: $40
This triangular shawl is a free pattern found on Ravelry. It is knit in entrelac style (a textured diamond pattern) and looks most striking using yarn with wide bands of colour like Zauberball or Noro yarns. It works with yarn from laceweight to DK weight and is completely reversible.

Topics will include:
- review of graph reading and lace-knitting basics
- loop cast-on
- picking up knitted stitches
- calculating how many tiers to knit
- wet blocking
- alternatives to a triangular shawl
