I have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks.
On April 30th, I attended the Knitter's Frolic in The Big City sponsored by the Toronto Knitters Guild. I arrived at about 9:30 - after the big rush to get in yet in plenty of time for me to scope out the booths and decide what I might want to buy.
I met up with some of my knitting peeps and got to stroll around to my heart's content. At noon I taught my Latvian braid class. My students were very enthusiastic and did very well. The sweater is a Drops pattern. I will definitely be investigating the pattern.
They were pretty pleased with themselves. The braid really 'pops' when high contrast yarns are used.
Once my class was over and I packed up, I was able to relax and tour the show in earnest.
One of my favourite booths is ZigZag Stitches. I really like the fabrics they use for their project bags, I took this photo in hopes I'd run into Jen2. She has a dachshund, Bridget, who wears sweaters much like this.
This is a circular needle holder.
This light, colour-blocked infinity scarf really caught my eye. It was the Sashiko Knit kit with lightweight, fuzzy yarns knit with oodles of moss stitch.
I liked this sample on display. Unfortunately, I tried to find the pattern on Ravelry and couldn't find it.
I met up with Jen1 and accompanied her on our rounds of the booths. It was a long day but 'twas most enjoyable.
Apparently the feedback about my class was positive and I'm being considered for next year's teaching roster. I have a couple of things in mind that I'd love to teach.
I did not see that bag. Bummer
ReplyDeleteIs this the correct pattern for the shawl?

Could be it. It just looks different from the one on display at the Frolic.
