There were about 50 spinners in attendance plus vendors and organizers. I bought a skein of handpainted MCN. I wanted a 'manly' colour for some Christmas gift knitting. I was very impressed with the price.
There was a Canadian Production wheel for sale as well as 4 angora bunnies. For the first time, vendors were on the stage. Unfortunately, I don't think everyone made it up the stairs to peruse their goods.
These two ladies have done a lot of travelling for their spinning and knitting pursuits. They're planning on going to Knit East 2017. I looked over the roster of teachers and there are a couple of classes that intrigue me but I'm not sure I'm intrigued enough to head to New Brunswick next fall.
There were lots of different types of wheels. The one on the right (above) was a little 'hatbox' wheel, a Louet S40 Limited Edition - very handy for the spinner on the go.
I loved the tea cozy that was (rug)hooked with a combination of handspun yarns.
Alexa and I realized that the fibre we were spinning matched our respective outfits.
Rosanne showed off this lovely bag she had felted.
Jen1 and I won prizes. I won a basket of three skeins of gradient dyed handspun yarn and a jar of crabapple jelly.
Jen won 2 draws! One was a gift certificate and the other was a book of cable patterns. Here, she's getting the autograph of the author/designer, Annie Maloney.
After packing up, we went to the Empire Cheese Factory, then headed home. It was a fun day and the potential for other road trips were discussed. Jen1 and I will be going to the Woodstock Fibre Festival the weekend after next.
